It sounds to me like the files aren't consistently "tagged". If I were
you, when I copy the files to your PC, I'd run them through a tag editor
such as MP3 Tag Studio before importing into I-tunes. You can use the
tag editor to erase the old tags and use the filenames as new tags, and
I-Tunes should recognize these tags.
