Warner Music Settles Spitzer PAYOLA Probe for $5 Mln
Nov. 22 (Bloomberg) -- Warner Music Group Corp. will pay $5 million to
settle a payola probe by New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer,
becoming the second company to resolve allegations of bribing radio
station programmers to get airplay.

The Warner Music Group, the country's No. 3 record company, agreed
today to cease using pricey gifts and promotional giveaways to buy
radio airtime for its artists. It was the second settlement to emerge
from the New York attorney general's investigation into such
pay-for-play arrangements.
