Is this group a good place to promote your CD? Not particularly, the
amount of effort required versus the results you'll get make it a losing
proposition. Is usenet a good place to promote your CD? Not particularly,
but you would probably have better luck on the Christian groups. Even there
going about it the way you're going about it isn't likely to result in much.

Yes. Google is your friend.

A whole boat load of clues:

"If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what
you've always got."

If you always do whatever everyone else is doing you're not likely to
get much more than they're getting. Which ain't much. A website is not going
to do much for you unless people have heard of you and want what you've got.
(And ditch that "free" website, the ads give it a very unappetizing look. If
your ISP doesn't offer free websites pay a few bucks to get one without the
ads. If you don't want to be an amature you can't look like one.)

If you want to succede in the music business look at what the
successful independent musicians are doing and emulate the best of that.
Shit, maybe even innovate, but scratching around on usenet ain't gonna cut
it. You're going to have to go out and work. Same thing goes for the
religion business, if that's where you want to earn your living.

For most people "Christian" whatever means you want to preach at us.
Most of us ain't interested in bein' preached at. It's a very limited market
and even if you make it big you aren't going to make much or reach anyone
outside of those who like to be preached at because it affirms their
"faith". Bein' Christian doesn't mean you gotta' preach at people. You'll
have far better luck if you let your life be your testiment and
talk/rap/sing about that. If you're the real deal you won't need to
talk/rap/sing about your religion directly. Preachin' to the choir ain't
gonna' get you anywhere.

"Talking about music is like dancing about architecture" The way to
promote music is by performing music, particularly as you don't have what it
takes to get your CD played on hundreds of radio stations - yet. You need a
CD so you have a good answer when people come up to you and ask "do you have
a CD". You're going to have to convince people that they want it first.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd, think about your terminology. Isn't "promoting"
underground anything an oxymoron? If you want to be real make it real. Use
honest language, even if others don't.

One CD, one book, one painting is just one step.
