Well, it's possible to "convert" iTunes files to mp3s, but it's a labor
intensive process.
1. Download the iTunes files.
2. Burn a music CD with the iTunes files.
3. Rip the CD and create mp3s.
4. Result: unprotected mp3 files created from the iTunes files.
But you will need the iTunes software in order to do it.
