- That could also be a joke, but I suppose both items could possibly
work, although they are a bit kooky - reminds me of the ronco record
vacuum for some reason:

I suppose the CD adapter could work by pointing a laser into the laser
receiver in the CD-player and replicating the flickering that the
internal laser would give when reflected from a spinning CD. The
cassette-tape adapter could use an electro-magnet to replicate the
changes in magnetic intensity caused by a magnetic tape being drawn past.
Both products seem a bit crap. Why don't car-stereos have audio-in sockets?
It wont be long before they all do.
