If your are going to use it while running I would get a "flash memory"
based player like the Ipod Shuffle. The 1 Gb model is $130, will hold
about10 hours of songs (depends on how you compress them) and has no
hard drive that will shake or bounce while you run (shake and bounce is
bad for hard drives). The Shuffle is about the size of a pack of gum,
weights next to nothing and is the simplest to operate. You have to load
music onto it with Itunes, though, which is a free download from Apple.
I Tunes is not bad, just don't let it "organize" your music collection
for you.
