Hi There,
My HD went t1ts up and lost me all my mp3's. (Yes I know, no CD/DVD
backup to speak of)
Any road, as I'll be starting over, thought I might do the job
properly.
Is mp3 still the best format to rip to?
If not, what is?
Also, I'd like to have some level of normalisation, as often one track
to another, especially on random playback, could be many dB of
difference, from "is it playing?" one minute to "Wow turn it down!!"
the next.
I'd like to do this before compression ideally.
What is best prog for this?
(I do understand that I wont get the same level on all tracks, but I'm
hoping to be closer..)
Also, I'd like to sensibly catalogue the files this time, so ideally a
program that reads the (all original) CDs, normailises them, saves in
as close as lossless high qual format as poss, and catalogues them in a
searchable, organisable database for me.
What would y'awl recommend?
