Likely, this has been covered, in which case, please simply direct me
to appropriate posts. Searching for the answer has proven difficult.
scenario-
a 16:9 television.
DVD produced as "widescreen"
that movie plays, however, in letterbox.
Now, I have tried each setting from TV/monitor, and each setting from
DVD player - never to achieve a movie presentation that fills the 16:9
screen.
It seems to me, a 16:9 widescreen DVD would recognize a 16:9 capable
TV/monitor screen and project accordingly. In the aforementioned, and
every other experienced scenario, this is not the case.
A SOLUTION to this would be fabulous, (even it that is to point out a
lack of knowledge on my part.
In lieu of automatic recognition, is there a recognized system of
settings that allows a 16:9 TV to (re)produce a wide screen DVD so as
to actually FILL the screen?
Peace-
Stuart
