To me, "epic movie" means "set in 'epic times'"... historic, pre-history,
time of legends, etc. with a cast of thousands, usually including Charlton
Heston.
"CGI-epics" such as Troy, Gladiator, Lord of the Rings (even) don't quite
hit all of those markers.
