Actually it's really easy. I was a bank manager for Barclays for 5 years.
It's stupendously easy, which is why the bank lost, on average 30 million
each year.
Not that it mattered too much as Barclays is screwing their customers to the
tune of 5.5 billion each year anyway.
But for the record opening bank accounts under false, forged documents is
seriously easy.
The bank staff have never been, and never will be, trained in how to
recognise fraudulent documents. And when they do spot them the fraud team
often gives the member of staff a choice. Withold the documents and notify
the police (thereby creating a scene and possible harm) or give them back
and tell them not to come back again. Guess which one the staff choose...
