No it's not. It's copyright infringement, at worst. If studios bust you for
making rips to MP3 players how come they're sold? Apparently irivers, ipods,
creative's are all devices that are used for "pirating"
They changed the law from allowing you to make backups to not allowing you.
I wonder why hmm? It's called capitalism- if your kid breaks the original
DVD and you don't have a backup you will most likely buy another one. Wheras
if you let the kid use the DVD-R you still have the master. But of course
they lose money if you don't replace the broken disc. And guess who gets to
influence the laws?
