I echo the Xbox idea. I bought a premodded one ages ago. I have it
wirelessly connected via a Netgear game wifi adapter. It runs Xbox Media
Center and plays everything I throw at it. And it's infinitely updatable. I
can't believe any other media center device comes close.
Also got MAME on mine - fantastic!
