The quality of the MPEG encoder is likely to be as significant as the
dual-layer (which is not even rumoured yet!) Panasonics, for example, can
do wonders on 4 hours (and are superb at anything less) and take RGB. The
new Pioneers also get rated for having an excellent encoder.
