Hi Lads,
Following on from the last post 'On Ebay; Blade Runner with DTS', I can now
follow that up having now got a copy in my hot little hands. I can only
compare it to the Region 2 and 4 versions I have(and referring to
www.dvdcompare.org)
Appears to have been obtained from www.thaidvd.biz
How it looks :
Cover
- The front is the same, except it has the DTS Digital Surround Sound
header, which looks a little less than sharp. Has a nice little
hologrammatic DTS sticker
- The Back - Description the same, pictures different. Bonus Box says
'Interactive Menus, Production Notes, Scene Access.'
- Audio English Dolby Digital 5.1 & DTS 5.1 Digital Surround Sound
- Subtitles : English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Thai and Bahasa Indonesia
It claims to be R1, I think not.
The Disk
Not silver like the R2 & 4, has artwork imitating the DC picture on the
front cover.
Content.
Starts at the menu, my R2 & 4 don't do that. Has all warnings in various
languages.
Has three soundtracks - English 2.0, English 5.1 and English DTS. Subtitles
as above. Does not have the French or Spanish soundtracks.
Has a 'Cast Listing' section - the R2 & 4 do not have this.
Has written biography on Harrison, Rutger, Sean, Edward, M. Emmet, Daryl &
Ridley plus their film highlights.
Has a 'recommendation'.
So essentially, it's the R1 disk, with 5.1 and DTS.
Total size 5,240MB
Well, thoughts? I think it's worth having - you get the limited extras of
the R1 disk, plus although not genuine - a 5.1 and DTS soundtrack.
