In fairness, Lucas's plan _was_ to wait until the prequel trilogy had been
fully finished before releasing the 'original' trilogy on dvd, but he felt
the internet flames from way off on his ranch. He didn't have a choice but
to release them.
I don't think he can win whatever he does with Star Wars at this point. But
they're his movies and he can do with them what he wants. More power to him.
Hopefully that _won't_ mean he'll go tinkering with stuff in the movies
themselves, but it wouldn't surprise me. ...Or if it _did_ mean that...
hopefully it'd be just to make Han shoot first. That's just about the only
cut that actually "bothers" me. (Well that awful song in Jabba's den should
be undone too).
Whatever happens, he'd be a fool _not_ to release a full 6 movie boxset. And
we all know he's no fool. ;)
