I can't see any need to connect to a VCR unless it accepted input from
one which I assume it doesn't as the predecessor didn't, it only
accepted the freeview signal; DVB is it? or is that something else.
I think it maybe means it has passthrough or whatever it is called if
you had a need to hang on to the VCR for family tapes favourite porn
etc you could run the arial into the VCR then out into the Humax and
out of that into the TV.
TBH I haven't used a VCR since I got the PVR8000T as it does a
fantastic job, no looking for tapes or discs to record on to. if
something came on, you just hit record and away you go. The quality is
perfect, the same as the original broadcast, it would be at 2GB per
hour of recording.
The EPGuide is very handy for setting up weekly or daily recording
schedules just in case you miss your show one week it will auto record
it for you. and if you are there you will see it ask before starting to
record if you happen to be watching a different channel just in case
you were watching something else and didn't want the show recorded or
you didn't want to switch channels. Mind you, with twin tuners it
would probably just record without promting for a yes/no anyway.
Also when people ask if you recorded something and can they borrow it,
you can say no, it isn't on tape :o) Mind you they could give you a
DVD+r and you could dump it onto there for them via the PC connection
