Theoretically an electrical signal could be better as there is less
conversion involved.
The data is read optically and converted to an electrical signal.
this is then sent electrically to the amp and decoded.
If an optical connection is used the electrical signal has to be converted
before and after being sent to the amp which *could* introduce some small
errors.
In practice I doubt that anyone can hear a difference so stick with the one
you are using. There certainly shouldn't be any benefit to changing to an
optical one.
