With a bit more searching I found that there was to be an official release
of the concert on film but as you mention the quality was too low. I find it
interesting that you say it was because of the wrong film stock. Roger
Waters said that the originals are now missing - Such a pity as we all would
love to see such a historic and well loved performance brought to life.
I am sure that in this day and age one could produce a workable version - A
clever producer could even do a drawing fill in job like some of the Queen
videos.
Do you think it's worth petitioning them?
OK I know the band doesn't need the money but they do in a way owe us fans a
certain return of loyalty - and the Live8 concert proved how many fans they
still have.
