I assume it would be hard for the industry to get support for
prosecuting people for downloading TV shows when they are initially
broadcast to millions free to air and recorded by hundreds of thousands
anyway. TV Show download is an extension of your ability to record TV
shows IMHO
As long as you keep fairly current with shows, i.e don't expect to be
able to download episode one of a series that is in it's 3rd season. It
doesn't take long at all, fresh hour long shows (42 mins without ads)
can take about an hour and a half, less on a good day. The example in
this thread was the latest Episode of Lost which started slow for me
but soon got near 200KB and was done in about 50 mins. World of
warcraft use bittorrent to distribute their patched which can be 30 -
50 MB a time, loads of people moan about it taking 12 hours or more but
I can get speeds on that of between 700-800 KBps (BYTES not bits) a the
whole 230MB patch I had to get when I reinstalled was done in 11 mins.
So when it works it's beautiful.
