Yeah, I did think about the ROI and that may well be the case for a
great number of titles. If so, it would seem that the ROI consideration
is far less important in the US - bigger population perhaps.
I still find it galling that I had to buy a US R1 copy of Night Of The
Demon, aka Curse Of The Demon, (a 1950s horror film starring Dana
Andrews) where it actually claimed to contain both the US and UK cuts of
the film, and it was actually shot in the UK! Grrrr.
I have a whole list of films that I'd like to get on DVD, UK R2
preferred, but any region at a pinch, but like many, I suspect that most
of them will never surface on the medium. Sigh.
I'm still disappointed to find that many 'classic' films shot in the UK
can't be purchased here, yet in many cases they're readily available in
the US and other European countries. Good ol' UK Inc. at work again, it
would seem.
