I think the real difference is for R1 customers - the original issue in the
USA was pan and scan, whereas the new issue is 1.85:1 anamorphic. But the UK
original version was anamorphic anyway, for some reason, and also had (I
think) the same extras as the US one.
So it's quite possible that the "new" R2 issue will just be the old one,
with a new sleeve.
AFAIR, the number that was cut from the cinema version was reinstated when
it was issued on DVD and VHS, and I can't believe they'd cut it out again.
My R2 copy has gone astray, so it looks like I'll be buying the new one
whether it's different or not....
