If the studios eventaully get their way and force things into a PPV
paradigm, i wonder if they might end up LOSING money that way. I know
alot of people who buy a lot of DVDs, mostly for abotu $20 each. A
while back, i asked abunch of them how many times they've watched a
DVD, making the point that unless they've watched it (say) 4-5 times
each, then it would've been cheaper to just rent the thing. Most of my
friends have only watched most of their DVDs a single time.
And what will happen to those nice $30+ Special Deluxo box with extra
features? I mean, how many times do even the most rabid fans watch the
extra features?
If the studios want us to stop owning movies, well, don't be surprised
if we stop BUYING them! (duh).
