I am looking for a DVD recorder. I already have a twin tuner Freeview
box with a hard disk (Toppy) so I am not looking for a combination unit.
It will mainly be used for archiving stuff from the Toppy's hard disk,
and to play disks.
But there are certain facilities the DVD recorder needs to have.
The different DVD formats confuse me and I don't care as long it records
disks that can be played back without me having to worry whether the
other person's player can play them, and of course at decent quality.
It must be Region 1 compatible, i.e. it must be able to play American
DVDs as well as UK ones, and ideally record in a format that US players
can play.
It must be CD, i.e. jpeg, compatible.
I am more concerned about the quality and features of the machine than
the price.
I have been unable to find a DVD recorder that matches these
specifications, especially with regard to being multi region or region
free, where information is scarce.
Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
