I purchased one of the above and had loads of trouble with it locking
up etc. Eventually took it back to Argos who gave me a refund. Went to
Amazon and got one of these Lite-on things;

from Amazon. Allthough not fully featured and a bit fussy about the
type of disks it will take, I am well chuffed. Theres lots of stuff on
the web to hack this machine for multi region or removing macrovision
etc. If you want a cheap basic recorder to mess around with, then you
could do worse.
