Won't a DVD player with an internal upconverter have the advantage of
being able to read the interlace / progressive flags off the disc and
thus tailor its upconversion to maximise the quality in the respective
modes? Whereas an external upconverting with have to make a best
approximation based on what it thinks it sees in the incoming video?
