You need to finalize the disc and then transfer it to the PC for proper
editing. All the Sony is doing is inserting jump points to skip things
on playback. Oh and make sure you use 'Video' mode rather than 'VR' mode
as your PC may not be able to read 'VR' formatted discs.
Software such as TMPGEnc Tsunami DVD Author Pro, or VideoReDo will take
out the ads at frame level. Then you can author what's left to DVD-R.
