At the moment there are no HD DVD players on the market, just player that
will up-scale a SD disk. If you purchase an up-scaling DVD player then you
will be bypassing the scaler built into the display so you should ensure -
in other words - that the DVD players scaler is better than the LCD screens
scaler or you will not see any benefit. The 656 was quite a decent player in
it's day so you might be better off waiting until true HD players (Blue-Ray
or HD-DVD) come on to the market next year.
