Try running some of the apps I list on my site (they`re all free)

Start with Sysclean to clear up any doubt about a virus infection -
you may have to close / terminate any existing AV software first
though.
Other than that, SpywareBlaster, CWShredder, Spybot Search & Destroy,
make sure all the windows updates are in place, and if it still has
some strange behaviour, HijackThis! is called for (you can copy and
paste the results into www.hijackthis.de for some help in deciphering
them)
