About all you can do is go with a trusted consensus and hope they know
what they are talking about. The problem is that the target is moving
faster than an accurate consensus can be formed in most cases. What
was yesterday's stable media is today's crap media.
My son bought 50 TY discs when he got his NEC 3540. All the discs from
that lot play one year later. By contrast we have had to toss about
100 discs from other manufacturers because after as little as 6 months
they won't play.
