I took that job because I thought that nuclear power was an answer to
the inevitable disappearance of oil & other fossil fuels, and to the
pollution caused by burning them and by burning renewable carbon fuels
(wood, whatever).
I still believe that, nearly half a century later.
The main difference is that I now recognize (at least a little bit) the
significant logistical problems and even danger associated with nuclear
waste.
I'm still waiting for energy from earth-bound nuclear fusion, i.e., not
just solar energy :-)
