Some DVD players will only play a DVD that conforms EXACTLY to the DVD
specifications.
Your discs will not play on these machines.
However, many machines are somewhat tolerant of deviations from the DVD
specifications and so will accept your discs.
It is quite possible that you simply haven't come across a machine that is
this picky yet.
My old Sony DVD recorder is such a machine :(
