Jules, don't be hasty what you are talking about is almost certainly
image retention, not screen burn and it will fade and dissapear given
time.you didn't run the screen in using lower brightness, colour and
contrast settings as you are supposed to for the first 200 - 300 hours
viewing and people should keep the kids off Cebeebees and other logo
heavy channels for extended periods during the break in period, change
channel every so often or zoom the image every so often?
Also, Seems a little unfair on the shop you got this from, that because
you didn't take known precautions they will now possibly take a loss on
this item.
Check the AVForums plasma forum for threads about this issue and how you
should treat a plasma in the initial period.
Also there is a batch that need a firmware fix to rectify a pixel voltage
issue that is partially to blame for this occurance. My 436XDE suffers
none of these issues from what I have seen but this is from a December
2005 build with the firmware fixed out of the box.
