Please help!!
Since I got my Panasonic DMRES20 DVD recorder at crimbo I have had a
succession of woes. The latest is that the TVs in the playroom and
bedroom are now without a picture/signal. I dont understand this AT
ALL, because on Wednesday night I watched the football which was on Sky
in the bedroom quite as normal.
Aerial installers look away now as this will no doubt send a shiver
down your spine
Here is the set up
Roof aerial in to DVDR, then on to SAT receiver, then RF1 on sat to VCR
then into TV
RF2 from sat outside and into playroom wall socket. cable from there
into booster/splitter. RF1 out from the booster into ondigital box,
then VCR, then playroom TV.
RF2 out from booster back into wall socket, cabled round to bedroom TV.
Now I can only get a picture on the TV in the playroom if I plug the
aerial from the wall socket straight into the TV. This suggests that
there is no problem with the signal from the SKY box to that point.
BUT if I plug the cable into the wall socket to make the loop around to
the bedroom I get almost no picture in the bedroom.
This tends to suggest something is wrong with the cable from the wall
socket in the playroom to the bedroom, but if I plug the cable from the
playroom wall socket into the booster I get no picture to the playroom
TV either, suggesting something is wrong with that too.
I thought this might be an interference issue, and have been changing
the RF out of the DVDR but it makes no difference. The at RF out is set
to about 68, DVDR about 53 IIRC.
But I still dont understand why it would suddenly stop working. Today I
unplugged everything and then plugged it back in again and it worked
fine, just like before i put the DVDR in the system and in fact just as
wednesday night even with the DVDR in the loop.
I am at a loss. Is there any possibility that someone in the street got
a videosender for christmas that is screwing up my reception? I could
hear some strange german voices on the bedroom tv - and no, my bedroom
DVD player did not have a special film playing!
Please help, I am at a total loss here!
