It is "known" because the manufacturers have said it and are aware of the
need to run in a plasma before using it on bright settings, it is known
by people who do some reading on a product before spending 2.5K on it
and it's known by customers who deal with better retailers who are more
forthcoming with info than the one Jules obviously dealt with.
because you personally don't know about an issue doesn't make it unknown
Loz, at the end of the day even if only Pioneer knew about it this would
still be a "known" issue.
"strangers on the internet"?? Are they are somehow different and less
reliable than strangers who work in shops or strangers who write for AV
magazines? Besides, some of the contributors on the AV Forums install
and calibrate Plasma TV's for a living so yes I do take what they say as
something approximating gospel as far as the use of a new Plasma TV goes.
Thanks
Damon
