Of those shops I think PC World are pretty good, not had any bad experiences
with them..... so far.
Dixons really mucked me about with my DVD recorder, I took out a three year
warranty on it and in its first year there was a problem with the disks not
being recognised so I rang up Dixons and told them the problem and expecting
them to help me out but they said as it was in the first year of the
warranty the manufacturer (Panasonic in this case) would have to deal with
it!!!
So I had to call Panasonic and they then called Martin Dawes who I think are
official repairers for Panasonic or something like that, and it was they
that came and fixed it.
It really makes you wonder exactly what you're paying for with this extended
warranty lark because I get the impression that once retailers get your cash
they don't give a shit and now I'm getting a little older and wiser I don't
need the hassle of being mucked about.
If I have to go to the manufacturer to get replacements and repairs then I
may as well just cut out the middle men (Dixons, Currys, Comet etc...) and
buy from them in the first place.
:)
