depends on how good the hi def screen is and how bad the one it replaces in.
chances are your hi def screen will probably be a lcd or plasma and
therefore have perfect geometry and a digital connection between the dvd
player and the screen - these things will make things better.
they wont look as good as hi def material of course.
you wont have to replace your discs, but you can bet the replacement hi def
versions on blu ray etc will look nicer.
