One thing to keep in mind - the video evidence must display the time and
date on the screen for it to be admissable for evidence in court, so you'd
need to purchase a seperate date & time generator.
There are many very small cameras available that can connect wirelessly.
That could be the answer to your problems. (A better answer would be a
baseball bat over the head of the local chavs, but then the courts come down
hard on vigilantes these days. Piece of nonsense).
