Recently bought a Toshiba DVD recorder, its attached to a 32" Toshiba
television (3 Scart Sockets) to AV2. Connected to television AV1 I have a
Freeview decoder. On the television settings I have set AV2 output to AV1
meaning I can record the decoder programs without directly connecting the
decoder and recorder by scart cables.
My problem is when I put the television on stand-by (Or switch by front
switch) then the AV2 socket no longer out puts the decoder and I get a
recording of a black screen. Seems odd to me and try as I night I can't find
any settings in the manual to overcome this, is this normal?
My temp solution is as follows.
Decoder - AV1
DVD recoder - AV2 (Output now set to AV3)
VCR - AV3
As the decoder has a scart output for a VCR its now linked to AV2 on DVD
recorder.
The above lets me record to DVD while the TV is in stand by.
Slight snag is if I'm recording from VCR to DVD I have to keep the
television switched on.
Main question again if the above isn't clear, will television AV2's output
only function when the television is switched on?
TIA ... John
