VOB is MPEG, TDA has option to convert (rename) back to .MPG extension and
it won't take any longer than copying time. If you won't want to mess with
TDA (it requires standard working DVD in order to read the chapter option),
you can use util lile "Windows Explorer" to Copy and Rename to .MPG
------------------------------
While a Video Object file (VOB) is composed mostly of
DVD compliant MPEG data, and can have that data in
sequence, it is not always the case. The vob file has other
data fields and streams. All of them have navigation data
added, even those that work with some programs when you
just change the extension to .mpg. Some programs ignore
the navigation data and some can even use it to properly
construct a true .mpg, not all are that smart though.
Even if a program can read some renamed .vob files,
there are some it won't be able to extract correctly
without info from the .ifo file associated with the .vob.
These are primarily those with alternate display options,
(Camera Angles, Alternate Endings, ect.) but it could
happen where a production decision created a change in
the playback sequence of the MPEG data.
Luck;
Ken
