Having now looked at the manual on JVC's website (isn't the internet
wonderful?) , I'm afraid it looks like you may have bought a lemon. I
can't see any way of changing the video output to PAL or NTSC, so I
can only assume that it always puts out PAL irrespective of the disc
in question and does a crude standards converion on NTSC material...
If you're going to change it, I can personally recommend the Sony
HXD-710 - with 160Gb hard drive and Freeview bulit-in.
