We are trying to use the program "Adhere" from Addenda to control digi-beta
decks from Windows PCs. (DVW-A500 and DVW-500) We purchased an RS-2/8 Rosetta
Stone 232 to 422 adapter that included the Adhere software. The software
controls the digi-beta decks just fine but will not enable the audio channels to
do insert audio edits. It will do video insert edits but not audio edits. The
enable lights on the front of the decks do not light up and hence no audio edit.
The program works perfectly with BetaSP decks. It will do audio insert edits.
So, something is different with the Sony digi-beta decks serial protocol. In
setup I made sure that the remote protocol was set for "Sony 9 pin protocol".
Has anyone heard of this issue before and know of any work arounds? We are
willing to modify the digi decks if that helps.
Our application for this is to lay back audio after sweetening sessions.
