I had full speed playback and no real problems. In fact, after purchasing
the cineform package in preparation for the footage coming back from the
shoot I did have some regrets. Premiere Pro 1.5 latest seemed to do HDV just
fine.
We cut the show and did a lot of effects in Combustion. That all went well.
the only caveat is that the audio was unusable. This project weas a music
vid for an East Coast band. Although I started with a good wave file in my
edit.. the resulting MPEG render's audio totally sucked and was nowhere near
the original. So I cut the original audio back to the Digibeta for release.
I was going to by the Sony cameras at the beginning of this gig but now.. I
am not going to. This HDV thing is transient as far as I am concerned. I
will wait with fingers crossed for the next format ..
