DV cameras, by definition, compress the video 5:1 inside
one of the custom integrated chipset modules. It would be
cheaper to buy a pro digital video camera with SDI output
than to modify most DV camcorders.
And even if you could arrange access to the raw, uncompressed
video bitstream, you would have to invent a protocol to transport
it via Firewire (or USB2, or whatever). I believe this is currently
undefined.
