Much to the chagrin of the Champaign Palace Post Facility House
industry, the BBC has just set up 60 FCP stations after deciding that
they can finish, grade and audio sweeten much of their production needs.
The lack of expertise and consequent dysfunction suffered by some should
not be taken for a generality. FCP and other technologies, such as HDV
at the moment, require certain specific system and production path
knowledge. Both will let one down if one doesn't have that knowledge.
Consequently the results of inappropriate and incognisant analysis are
meaningless.
