Yes, it will. And it an be modified in practically infinite
ways to do whatever is needed.

We tried that. We found three major problems...
1. The noise (mostly hiss, but also some distortion) was pretty
bad and made intelligibility a problem in noisy venues.
2. The VOX mode had enough of a delay that lots of times
the camera number the director was addressing was lost,
and they could never remember to use the manual PTT.
3. In any kind of more populated urban area, it was hard
to find a free channel that could be used reliably for a
long-form (>30 minutes) production.
4. (bonus) The units we found were pretty flimsy and
unreliable. Maybe there are better ones today?
