Steve,

I generally agree with you. Many of the points you are making are part
of my conversations with the client.

However on one point, I think you are wrong and for a unique reason.

To your point, I still have playable 45's 78's and 33 1/3". I still
have reel to reel audio tapes that sorta work. 8MM film is still
viewable on my projector.

However, when it comes to TV I think we may have a different scenario
brewing.

The Government......(Nuff said?) The Government is mandating by law
that TV stations broadcast in only(?) HDTV beginning in 2009. They
have mandated that all TV's manufactured beginning in 2006 be HDTV
rabbit ear capable.

By 2015 I think you will not be able to find a TV set capable of
working with today's video media.

I think that Richard pointed out that Hollywood is in between the rock
and hard spot. Today, I realized that ALL of Blockbuster's current
inventory will become unviewable in year 201?.

The Government for very good reasons (for them and us) is forcing a
sudden technology shift. None of the other technology evolutions have
had an incompatible jump shift. This may be the first.
