So you think NTSC will disappear just because terrestrial broadcast
is migrating to a new standard? With hundreds of millions of hours
of NTSC media out there (both on the producer side and on the
consumer side)?

Lets look at an alalogy. It has been >25 years since the audio
CD came out, effectively replacing black vinyl LPs. But when
you look at almost any electronics retailer, you will see new
turntables, pickup cartridges, stylii, RIAA phono preamps, etc.
being offered for sale. Something that is unlikely unless people
are actually out there buying them.
