I picked up the DV500 after neither I, nor Matrox tech support could get
the RT2500 to work on my "recommended hardware" computer. They tried,
and I give them a lot of credit and determination, but to no success.
Did I rag them for it and make it a life long obsession? No. I exchanged
it for a DV500+ (v2 software), Hollywood FX Bronze and got some cash
back too. I stuck the card in the first empty PCI slot I had and was
editing ever since. Moved the card into two totally different computers,
and finally gave it to someone who has it in another totally different
computer. As for the first runs and PAL, I don't know. I do know that
the later ones seem to have worked. There were many PAL users in the
Pinnacle forums editing away with the card.
