If the headphone output doesn't work, you shouldn't assume it's
just a matter of replacing the external jack. There's several things in
the camcorder's circuitry that could cause this and only an experienced
technician could diagnose and fix the problem. There's a workaround for
this problem, which is to get some amplified headphones and feed them
from the line-level analog audio output jacks. A wireless headphone set
would also work, with its transmitter connected to the audio outputs.
