In another thread, someone said PD150 flat rate was $575, but I
thought I'd read that Sony no longer offered flat rate for pro or
prosumer cameras.

Barbara. I have yet to do business with them but like what I've seen
posted so far. I spoke with their Cheryl today and am about to send
her a PD150. Estimates are free including return shipping, Cheryl knew
a lot about PD150's and was willing to talk about them, and she's not
even the hot-shot tech who's mentioned. But I imagine they'll get $100
for the job. Time (labor) is money.
If my audio jack didn't make contact I'd start by finding a tiny
dental pick with which to pull the contact toward center. Otherwise,
I've taken apart a VX1000 but not a PD-anything, but would expect it's
exactly the same idea. Take out the little screws and the thing opens
up. But I'll bet that you'll find that the part is indeed custom for
Sony, and no one will sell you one. But if you're lucky you'll be able
to repair it.
